Message to Parents
Welcome Friends to Clare Athletics,
The 2009-2010 school year has begun. For Clare High School, it is a very special year. We are celebrating all year the 30th Anniversary of Brookwood Athletic Complex. So many memories have been made throughout the years, and there are sure to be new ones created this year. Brookwood has been home to the Pioneers since a rainy Saturday in October of 1979. We honor the Clare Community for its gift to the student-athletes of CHS. The community built Brookwood without any taxes or bonds being passed. The community raised almost $250,000 to build the complex in 1979. The athletic complex is the envy of many surrounding communities, and one that makes all of us so proud. Since I arrived last year, I have seen what makes Clare so special, and that is the community. We have the best support of any school in the area.
As you watch each team compete, let us remember what makes us the envy of a lot of people. CLARE PRIDE. We know what that means. Our teams will bring their best every game. Our fans will cheer with passion. Our students will participate with class. Our coaches will represent the community in the highest manner. Educational athletics are an important part of the make-up of Clare High School. The core of educational athletics are found in two things-teamwork and sportsmanship. Hopefully all of us will embrace this core to work as a team and promote good sportsmanship.
